Job Description

Your duties will be to manage and coordinate Business Development ensure the futureproofing of Concept Engineering Consultants Limited. 

Your role will be mainly UK based but overseas Business Development may also be required.    

Your base will be the Coventry office, and you will be expected to attend the London offices as and when necessary. You shall also arrange and visit client and customer offices, attend industry exhibitions, seminars and award ceremonies. 

Your time will also be spent engaging in community outreach activities including schools, colleges and universities to inspire the next generation of drilling staff and geotechnical engineers.

Key tasks are, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking Business Development and marketing of Concept.
  • Develop and implement Business Plans and Growth Strategies: 1, 3 and 5 yrs.
  • Contribute to achieving monthly Sales Targets and Budgets for the business.
  • Achieve monthly targets for opportunities, customer interaction and community outreach. 
  • Create and manage a client engagement strategy.
  • Communication with existing and new clients and develop long term meaningful relationships.
  • Maintain key client relationships.
  • Quarterly reviews of the market: analysis of market trends, public and private sector investment, customer and tender analysis
    Identify and pursue opportunities within existing and new target markets and sectors.
  • Provide technical support for PQQ’s and Tender submissions and proposals.
  • Report and present monthly Business Development activities.
  • Publication of articles, award entries and case studies in recognized trade publications, websites and social media via blogs, vlogs, panel discussions.
  • Steer Concept’s internal and external marketing; preparation and management of marketing budget and strategy with BD and Marketing Officer.

Education & Training

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering / Earth Sciences or relevant subject
  • CSCS Card
  • Full Driving Licence

Knowledge & Experience 

  • Have a full appreciation of the UK Geotechnical and Ground Engineering industry.
  • Minimum 5 years experience of the UK Ground investigation industry.
  • Understand market drivers and influencers.
  • Possess commercial acumen and understanding of Construction industry contracts.

  • Excellent IT skills – extensive knowledge of electronic mail and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess strong sales and negotiating skills.

Job Specifics 

SHIFT PATTERN: Monday-Friday

HOURS: 37.5 hrs – this position does not pay overtime

SALARY: TBC Depending on experience
